Understanding How to Locate Your Case Information in Oklahoma
Hello, I’m Oklahoma City family law attorney Dillan Savage with Wirth Law Office, and I practice primarily in the Oklahoma City area. Today, we’re talking about ways to check if you have a case filed against you—whether it’s family law, criminal law, civil law like breach of contract, or small claims.
Keep in mind, most cases involving minor children—like adoptions or guardianships—are not viewable. Depending on the resource you use, you may also be able to view tribal cases.
Key Resources for Finding Your Case
As a family law attorney, I often use OSCN, which stands for Oklahoma State Court Network. For tribal law cases, I use ODCR, or On Demand Court Records.
To use OSCN, just go to oscn.net or search OSCN on Google and click the top result. Once you’re on the site, use the case search tool. You can select a county or leave it open, then enter your full name. If your name is common, it helps to include your middle name. If you know your case number, enter the complete number for accurate results. This site lets you see filed documents, court dates, and case updates.
Exploring Additional Tools for Court Records
ODCR is another option. The last time I used it, you needed an account to access most features. That may have changed. I use it mostly for tribal cases, where it provides broader access.
These tools are very useful. A lot of people don’t know they can check court filings and documents this way. Attorneys use these resources all the time, and you can too.
